From
the 7th September to the 20th October, some of the
most important matches of the Rugby World Cup 2007
will take place in Saint-Denis. To celebrate this
great event and to make it accessible to everyone,
the town of Saint-Denis and the towns of Plaine Commune
have put together an exceptional festive programme
free for all.
Right next to the Stade de France at the Porte de
Paris, the village RugbyColor
will put on 14 free concerts, show matches live on
a giant screen, host eight debates, several exhibitions
and street festivals.Set up and built especially for
the occasion, this unique space devoted to this prestigious
event will be the meeting point for the inhabitants
of Saint Denis and rugby spectators. Let yourself
get carried away by "rugby fever" along
with supporters from all over the world.
You will also find a tourist information point, cafés
and restaurants.
Saturday 8th September, the "Mêlée
des Mondes" will "kick-off" festivities
in Saint-Denis 2007 !

World Sports Forum
Come and take part in these eight debates where sportsmen/women
and specialists comment and discuss on the important
topics around the evolution of rugby and sport. Listen
to them analyzing the multiple stakes and challenges
in the globalization of the different sports practiced
and competitions held. After the initial success of
the first edition of the World Sports Forum in 2003
during the World Athletics Championship, the World
Sports Forum is ready once again to open its doors.

A hundred or so young people from the town of Saint-Denis
became " ambassadors " for the Rugby World
Cup and traveled to five different countries : Scotland,
Morocco, South Africa, Ireland and the United States.
During the World Cup they in turn will welcome young
people from these countries to Saint-Denis to enjoy
a festive musical event (9th September in the "Maison
de la Jeunesse") and take part in the Youth Forum
in the Village Rugbycolor (Wednesday 12th September
at 4pm).

Every weekend, delegations coming from the various
countries taking part in this sports competition will
be present at the tourist information stand. They
can give you tourist information and show you a thing
or two about their country (Argentina, South Africa,
Ireland
)In the village and in the center of
Saint-Denis, the numerous cafés and restaurants
there will welcome you to an atmosphere of festivity
and conviviality.Throughout the competition, 4 exhibitions
invite you to combine rugby and art and take you on
a journey to the world of sport and culture :
Marco Polo and the book of wonders : From the
7th September to the 3rd December 2007, the Art and
History museum in Saint-Denis invites you to discover
the great figure of Marco Polo, this Venetian traveler
who set off in the 14th century to visit the unknown
Orient. 150 objects and works of art whet our appetite
for the fantastic and places elsewhere
" Allez les Petits !" - "come on
kids!": A fun way to learn about sport and
rugby for kids from 4 to 11 through games and workshops,
in the "salle de la légion d'honneur"
in Saint-Denis during September and October.
Rugby artists : From the 7th September to the
20th October, in the auditorium set up in the Village
Rugbycolor, 10 artists will delight us with their
paintings inspired by rugby, its values, beauty and
countries of origin.
Glass at work
from the end of Antiquity to
the Legras factories, glass in Saint-Denis : archaeology
and industry : until the 22nd October, 300 pieces
displayed in the museum of art and history in Saint-Denis
recount the history of glass in Saint-Denis from medieval
times to today.
Saturday
8th September from 6pm to 9pm, be sure to come to
Saint-Denis to admire "la grande parade"
a street parade directed by Philippe Decouflé,
the famous choreographer of the opening ceremony of
the Albertville winter Olympics. More than a thousand
inhabitants from Saint-Denis and Plaine commune will
take part.
The
"Mêlée des mondes" will
cross the town of Saint-Denis and make its way to
the village Rugbycolor. Giants, totems, flags, floats,
musical instruments and other spectacular accessories
will bring everyone together around two rugby worlds
: the northern and southern hemispheres.
Rugby Tour
A mini rugby pitch will be set up in the center of
Saint-Denis throughout the World Cup allowing everyone
to discover the game of rugby, its rules and its values.
Street festivals
Banda music, orchestras and fanfares will liven up
the village Rugbycolor, the streets, the squares,
the town-centre shops and neighbourhoods.
